For all safety purposes, all swimmers must wear proper swim attire to be allowed to swim in the park. This includes bathing suits, athletic shorts, swim shorts, or other light swim attire. All other articles of clothing must be removed before swimming. Failure to comply with this rule will result in loss of access to the lake.
Swimmers under the age of 14 are required to take a swim test swimming “Freestyle” roughly 50 yards followed by successfully treading water for 15 seconds to be able to access the “deep end”, which includes the floating dock. Individuals are only permitted one attempt at the swim test per day.
A lifejacket, deemed the correct size, may serve in place of passing the swim test if worn at all times in the deep end (this does not include water wings, flotation belts, inflatables, swimming with parents, etc.). Only single-person floatation devices are permitted. Vasa Park Resort does not provide life jackets or flotation devices.
Swimming is only permitted in designated areas during hours when a lifeguard is on duty. For your safety, absolutely no swimming is allowed under the influence of alcohol or drugs - no exceptions.
Regardless of whether a lifeguard is on duty, swimming is at your own risk.
Boathouse Rentals
Kayaks, paddleboards and peddle boats are available for rent through the front desk. All participants must sign a waiver before use and wear a properly fitted life jacket at all times—no exceptions. Rental equipment is not permitted within designated swimming areas. Guests must follow all posted guidelines and use equipment responsibly to ensure the safety of themselves and others.
Boat Launch
All boats and personal watercraft (including Seadoos) must be properly trailered to use the designated boat launch at Vasa Park Resort. Launching requires a minimum of two individuals: one to operate the watercraft and another to park the vehicle and trailer after launch. Vehicles may not be left unattended at the launch area at any time. Day-use parking for vehicles and trailers is available in the northernmost fenced section of the parking lot. The dock nearby the boat launch is not for public use, please do not tie your boat up to the dock, or load passengers onto your boat through the dock. Please access your boat or jetski, by accessing it from the beach through the water.
“Launch and Leave the Park” The Boat Launch price includes the cost of launching, storing your boat and trailer in our parking lot, and at the conclusion of your day, you may trailer your boat. You may only launch and leave with the individuals within the vehicle at time of launching. If you would like to pickup other individuals outside of your original launching party, they will need to pay park admission.
“Launch and Stay” Vasa Park Resort has a beautiful beach where you can park your boat on the sand. To launch and stay, you will be required to pay both the boat launch price and park admission for each individual. If you are going to launch and stay, please be sure you get the proper window indicator through the front gate.
Reminder: The boat launch fee covers launch and leave only. If you plan to remain in the park or beach your boat, you must pay the appropriate day-use admission for each person in your party. If you intend on beaching your boat for use during the day at Vasa, please connect with the front gate to get the appropriate direction and boat sticker
